And soap the story goes...

Another quick update on the progress of my soap. Starting to look pretty nice eh? The purple one is Lavendar shea butter with Vitamin E. The orange is Japanese lotus blossom cucumber avocado butter with vitamin E. Mmmmmm

Bubble baths and candle light.

The soaps at the top I just made today. Everything else I made sometime last week. These are all sort of... experiment projects as I am just beginning to learn how to make homemade candles and soaps. Some of the candles are soy which so far I've liked better as it seems to solidify very smooth. The soaps at the top are apple (pink/reddish bar) rosemary (purple with rosemary) and green tea. The ones at the bottom are apple (green), Orange peel scrub (clear with orange) and apple orange peel scrub (green with orange). Just wanted to quickly show you guys what i've been up to. I'm getting better and better the more I do it. Maybe someday someone will actually want to purchase something I make. Lol.

What do you think?!

Go on and Grobaby!

My sister started using the Grobaby http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/gro-baby-shell-set-p-667.html diaper system a few months ago and has been raving about them ever since. I’ve had no choice but to learn a little bit about them because of her. I’ve seen her use them on Jericho, but I’ve never had the chance to try them out for myself.

Now you don’t just have to use cloth diapers if you want to cloth diaper. They have awesome hybrid version where you can use an outer cloth cover with a disposable insert inside so that you can just throw away the nasty stuff and save the planet at the same time. Check out the great Grobaby biosoakers! http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/gro-baby-bio-soaker-intro-package-p-762.html

I think cloth diapering is awesome. Who wants to be single handedly responsible for filling our landfills up with stinking pooped diapers (Um… hello Duggar family)? I’m really excited to get the chance to check them out by doing this great blog giveaway they offered to all of their facebook fans. By blogging, I get to try the Grobaby Biosoaker Intro Package for FREE. It doesn’t get much better than free!

Check out my adorable nephew in his grobaby diapers:

A seat above the rest

So, one of the first few ideas I had when I first started considering the idea of a renewal of vows/re-wedding was about the seating. Kyle and I are very introverted so we don't have many close friends...or family for that matter... that we would be inviting so I had this image of something a little more.... warm. Intimate. Personal. Whereas most ceremony seating looks like this:I had the thought that if we did it outside (most likely option...) than I thought it would be cool to have rows of victorian styled couches/chairs/etc... all mix matched and different but relatively same in color trend. We would want jewel tones, sapphire blues, emerald/kelley greens, Orange, Red, yellow, etc... Here are some of the awesome pictures I've found to give you an idea:

I figured since we wouldn't have THAT many people come, this could be a nice, intimate alternative. I love victorian furniture so I'd like to invest some money into some pieces as it is. Usually though these pieces can be VERY expensive although I've found a piece or two here and there at thrift stores and antique shops that are actually decently priced. I guess the trick to this would be buy a piece here and there when you find it so that when the time actually comes, I've got a decent stock pile of pretty neat pieces.

But, since right now I'm just thinking IDEALLY what I'd want...victorian furniture-outdoors- is it.. Since it'd be fall I figured I could have a colorful throw blanket here and there too on the couches... fall in Syracuse can be shaky...

Just another idea...trust me, I'm full of them. :)

Unusual Wedding Frockage

Alright, as I've been on my search for a wedding dress, I've discovered it's basically impossible to find a wedding dress that isn't white, eggshell, cream, ivory or some variation of said "colors". There are quite a few red dresses but red is not ideal for me. I found a few dresses along the way that I like. Some that I like are here: (most are red, as I said... but try thinking of a different color...)

I don't particularly like this dress but I like the color, the orangish metallic is nice. And different.

I searched everywhere for a frontal photo of this dress but couldn't find it. I think this is so whispy and cool!

The top and bottom seem very off balance but I like the crinkle pick-ups!

Throughout my search I found a lot of crazy dresses... here are some crazy ones, but ones I liked enough to share (not necessarily wedding inspiration but cool none the less...):

I LOVE this next dress! It feels sort of scottish without being horrible traditional. I love it.

Does anyone know any good sites to find off the beaten path wedding gowns? It seems that if you want a colored gown, you get stuck with bad prom/bridesmaid dresses.

I'm determined to find something AHmazhing.
