Accurascope

There is lots lots lots to talk about! To start off, Sunday we went and got a Sunday paper. We were so busy that I totally forgot about it until we were about to go to bed. Kyle and I were talking about his gateway laptop and how it doesn't work and hasn't since it broke down in Iraq. I told him that there is no sense in having it lay around the house if it isn't serving any purpose so I told him to either fix it, get it fixed or get rid of it. He plugged it in and was fooling around with it while I was reading the paper. I found the horoscopes and read Kyle's aloud:

"Aries- A little technical expertise will be necessary, and if you don't have it, go out and get it-or ask someone for help."

We just kind of looked at each other and giggled. Then I read mine aloud:

"Cancer- You have a special reunion of sorts in store, and you've been waiting quite some time for the opportunity to share your feelings."

We looked at each other again. We didn't giggle. We were almost creeped out by the accuracy of both of our horoscopes. You see, I've been searching for someone for a very long time. About 4 years to be exact. I'd searched on every social networking site, I'd searched through whitepages.com, I even paid a site to find her for me. They gave me an address which I sent a letter to, only to have what I assume to be a stranger read it. All of my attempts at finding her were futile. Well, about a week ago, I was searching again via myspace/facebook as I constantly did hoping that she'd eventually join one of these sites and right there on facebook was her face staring back at me. After all this time, all my efforts, there she was. I messaged her and about a few days later I was sitting in this very chair talking to her on the phone. There were many times where I thought that I may never hear from her again. I thought I'd never find her. I thought that if and when I did, she might not want to be in contact with me or that maybe she was totally different than I remembered. I never gave up though and I feel so blessed to have found her. People can say whatever they want about social networking sites about how they are so silly and this that and the other but it made this reunion possible so I give my thanks to that site! I am just so overjoyed that I found her and that she was so receiving of me.

Okay, onto other things...

Kyle and I had an appointment with the chaplain last Thursday and it went a lot better than I'd expected. I thought that he was going to be all super HOOAH go army and just bash me and how I need to be more understanding of my husband and the army lifestyle. He wasn't at all. He told Kyle to never to go his leadership about any troubles because their way of dealing with things is to get rid of the problem and if I'm the problem, their solution is to get Kyle to get rid of me. Which is ridiculous. When Kyle and I have time together, we get a long so well and rarely ever fight or anything...but when he goes to work at 5am and doesn't get out until 10pm and then has to be back to work at like 3am, things become stressful. His schedule is ridiculous. Tomorrow morning he has to be in at 2am. Seriously. I think the only way people could live the life that we do without fighting is if they didn't have feelings for one another. If their marriage had been reduced to just being roommates. The chaplain said that the problem is that Kyle is full and I am empty. Kyle goes to work and talks to people and uses up his estimated 10,000 words a day (It is estimated that a man feels the need to only speak 10,000 words a day) while I sit at home not saying anything unless I'm talking to Harley and my estimated 30,000 words a day are going unsaid (It is estimated that the average woman needs to speak 30,000 words a day!) Then when he comes home, it's usually time to go to sleep, or at least close to it so we don't even have much time to talk because he needs to go to sleep and get as much as he can before 2 am comes, or 3am or 4am or whatever the leadership decides for that day. It's very unhealthy to have such an unsteady schedule, yet somehow they don't see that. I'm usually not even upset with Kyle because I know it's not his fault. I'm upset at the army and his leadership, but I have nowhere to direct that frustration and I do my best to not take it out on Kyle but sometimes it's just been such a long day we both are just so upset that we don't get to spend time together.
The chaplain had suggested a book called the five love languages to Kyle weeks ago and Kyle had bought it for me for my re-birthday. I read it in 2 days. It really makes sense and I would suggest everyone read it. I don't feel that it is just for people in intimate relationships. I think it will help in relationships between parent and child, friends, any relationship you have with someone.

The five languages are:

Physical touch
Words of affirmation
Receiving Gifts
Acts of service
Quality time

To someone, love means doing the dishes while in order to show love to someone else you may need to tell them they are beautiful. Obviously all of the above is nice, but we all have our TOP love language. Take me for example. I took the little test it gives you in the book and my high score language was physical touch with 9 points but tied in a close second both with 8 points was quality time and words of affirmation. When you and your significant other learn each others language it is a lot easier to know what you can do to express love to them.

I hope this post doesn't make Kyle and I out to look like crazies. It's not like we're constantly at each other and screaming and yelling and throwing things. Not at all. It's more just us being frustrated and sad with the situation his leadership is putting us in and the visit to the chaplain was more for confirmation. The chaplain said we're not broken in anyway and that we're better off than most of the other couples he sees. He was surprised when we said we knew about each others financial situations when we got married and knew about past relationships and everything. I think he was relieved that he didn't have to fish his way through all that mess to get to the core of our issues. Haha.

Anyway, enough about that....

The kittens are adorable, but still no new homes for them. I've put a few ads on craigslist but noone is interested in them. There are so many animals around here it's insane. People discard their "pets" when they're done with them. There is such a vast amount of pet ads that there are so many pets and just not enough takers.

Oh! Okay, so funny story. This morning I was making breakfast and I was using the toaster oven and I had called my dad to see how things were going. As I was talking to him and watching the toaster oven, I'd noticed that there was like smoke rolling around inside and I'm just like... okay, not good. I open it up to see what the heck was going on and when I pulled out the rack a flame shot straight up. I calmly told my dad to hold on. I unplugged it and grabbed a bowl of water. By the time I got back on the phone, the flame was gone. It was a tiny piece of cheese that had caught on fire! Crazy!

Kyle and I called animal control on the neighbors dogs that just run around the neighborhood. Animal control didn't do anything. We're going to keep bugging them. I hope the neighbors don't slash our tires because of it. The guy at animal control said that they are public records so if they wanted to they could go down and find out who complained. I think that is kind of stupid. I don't know why they won't let you call in anonymously. Oh well, it's gotten to the point where I don't care. I'm tired of these dogs crapping in my yard, digging through trash and dragging it all over everyones yard. Ridiculous.

Anyway, I think this may be enough for now. There is plenty more I could rant and rave about, but I won't. Maybe I'll update more than I have been lately so that when I do update, it won't be so long.

Here are some pictures, enjoi!

Our vines are growing tall! They've reached the dish part of the satellite!

In addition to the morning glory blooms these little red guys finally decided to show themselves!

Pizza and calazones during our 4 day weekend! Mmm! Also, please note scattergories in the calazone picture. We've become pretty obsessed with playing it.

See the garbage in the neighbors driveway? Irritating. This is nothing like what it's been before!
Taco bell cup in our front yard.... we don't even eat taco bell.
GET OUT OF MY YARD!!!!
Nom in Kyle's bathrobe pocket
Moomers and Nom!
Trouble in the back, split in the front.
Trouble in the back, split sleeping and PITA front and center. PITA= pain in the ass. I like calling her PITA cottontail.
Nom and Harley sleeping next to my legs while I watched Dr. Phil this morning.
Look how nom is sitting! Hahaha! She sat there like that for a good while, too!
I realize that I look like an idiot but look at adorable nom sleeping! Awwww. (Yes, I'm wearing my AWESOME vintage high waist pants. You love them!)

I wish my boobs were as beautiful as Kyle's, but seriously! Put some clothes on!

Yesterday proved to be interesting. Kyle and I were talking on the phone while he as at work and informed me that he had to go back to the range today, tomorrow and Thursday. Mind you, this time, he wouldn't be shooting. Since he's the RTO, he'd be doing radio/guard duty stuff. Basically, sitting in a tower all day long listening to the radio. So anyway, the question was.... why all three days? You would think that since he is the platoon RTO, he would only do RTO duties for the platoon that he is the RTO for, right? No. Of course not. He was told that he needed to be there everyday for all of the platoons. Sgt. Odowd said that they would be getting home by at least midnight. Everyone would get late call (going in later the morning after). Except for Kyle of course. Since he is the RTO, he would have to be there before everyone else. So, he'd get to work at 5:30, not get off until midnight-1amish. Come home. Hopefully sleep. Go to work at 5:30am the following morning. Repeatx2. But I guess this makes sense? Um, no. No, it definitely doesn't.

I went to pick Ky up last night and when I got there, I called to let him know I was outside. He said he was talking to Sgt. Odowd and that it was pretty important. He finally came outside after forever and told me that he was getting bitched out by everyone. Why? Because he actually stood up for himself and said something. I was relieved to hear that he did. He told the leadership that it was well.... bullcrap the way they had things planned out for him. He told them that it makes no sense and that something needed to happen. I guess he told them something to the fact that not only was all the stupid work/training shifts not good for him, but it's not good for our marriage. I guess the platoon leader was asking if I had a job or anything and that if I had a job maybe I wouldn't be so worried about what Kyle was doing. Are you serious? I would probably be more concerned seeing as how we have 1 car, if Kyle doesn't get home until 1am, that means I'm up until we both are home and able to sleep. And if I have to wake up at 4:30am to take him to work how am I suppose to get sufficient sleep in order to perform well at a place of employment? Also, on top of that, I don't want to get a job and then have to work when Kyle actually gets time off. If I got a job, we would NEVER see each other. Then the platoon leader had the gull to ask, "Well, doesn't she have any friends or anything?" Oh yeah, I forgot. I'm in a totally different state, 100's of miles away from anyone I know. I've only been here for 5 months, how dare I not have made any friends! Sorry that I'm not cruising myspace to find people who are only interested in partying anyway.

Anyway, I guess Kyle and I are going to talk with the Chaplain at some point. Not because we need any serious type of counseling or anything, but we really only have each other to talk to. We complain to each other but it'd be nice to get an outsiders opinion on things. Plus, Kyle has people at work he can complain to, I don't really have anyone besides Ky. It might be therapeutic to just get it out.

When Ky went into work this morning, he sent me a text and said that he was only going to the range today. I guess speaking up paid off.

Last night we were both really upset when he got off of work, but we came home and made dinner. (Chicken) Pea pasta. It was tasty. Kyle bought this BBQ apron awhile ago when we went to the Carolinas premium outlet mall, it's pretty hilarious. Goofing around and getting some food in our bodies and just being together put us both in much better moods. Harley always does a good job of cheering us up as well. She is so irresistibly cute, you just can't help being happy when she is around. Please note our awesome place mats that we got from the bridal shower. Also, our wonderful plates and utensils. We are getting much use out of it all and it is all greatly appreciated. After months of searching for our pancake puff maker, we finally found it, and gave it a try. It's crap. Maybe we'll try to use it again, perhaps we did something wrong. But our first try was a major failure.

So I've become pretty obsessed with Craigslist lately. I've been trying to de-clutter our house of things we don't want/need/use. I sold my 50's dinette set for $50 (I only bought it for $60 brand new!) And this past Friday I sold Kyle's weight benches/weight sets for $200 for everything. The extra money helps and it gives us a lot more much needed space. Kyle goes to the gym pretty much everyday and has to do PT, so when he's home, working out is the last thing he usually wants to do. I've been working on putting my clothes/shoes on craigslist. It's ridiculous the amount of stuff that I have to get rid of. Hundreds of pieces of clothing, seriously. When all the clothes and shoes are gone, it will be such a relief. I feel like I need to clean out and de-clutter things before I can actually seriously get started on organizing our house the way it needs/should be.

I sprayed the inside/outside of the house with this bug stuff that apparently blocks bugs from getting into your home for up to 9months. So, since I first did that, we've had an influx of bugs. How does that make sense? We've mainly had/have a problem with fire ants. EW. Regular ants in your house is bad enough, but FIRE ants? Yeah, no thanks. I spray them with bug spray, let them die, and suck them into the vacuum. They're really inconvenient, but I'm assuming they're just coming inside trying to find water. It hasn't rained too much here lately. Although, the other night we had some pretty bad storm warnings. We didn't actually get any of the storm although there was some serious lightning. It must have been heat lightning because it wasn't touching down, a few here and there, but the lightning was just rolling through the sky above our heads. It was unreal. Probably one of the cooler things I've ever seen.
I've been looking into schools. Still not sure which one I want to go to. Most places don't offer a lot of online courses for my field. I'd like to do it online due to saving gas, and doing school work around mine and Kyle's schedule. I'd really like Kyle to go to school too. He's too smart not to. He is currently working on 8 novels. He's been seriously developing I believe it's 3. The others are just ideas, he writes down ideas whenever he gets them. I always got on him to write. He'd always tell him his ideas and tell me how much he'd like to write, but he usually didn't find the time to sit down and just write. I'm glad he's been doing that lately. Infact, you can usually find him here....busy typing away. He's really very good, too. And he takes my constructive criticism very well. He really wants to create wonderful stories, so he's very open to my opinion. This is a pretty long post so I think I will end this now. Kyle is suppose to be getting released around 9ish tonight, so if that's the case, I only have another 2 hours before I have to go and pick him up! Yay!
